Amsterdam Brewing is Toronto, Ontario's first brew pub. It was founded in 1986 on John Street in the Entertainment area of the city. After moving locations a few times, it found its current location in 2005. The Brew Pub has a large retail shop and tours are organized twice a day throughout most of the year. In 2003, Amsterdam Brewing obtained the beers of Kawartha Lakes Brewing Company and ocntinues to brew a few of the Kawartha Lakes products (The Beer Book, 2008).
