Lucifer has a bit of an interesting history and also has an interesting name that has many wanting to try it. Lucifer was created in th emid 1980's by the brewery Liefmans. Eventually, Liefmans brewery would close down, so the beer was purchased by Duvel Moortgaat Corporation, but their main focus was to continue producing the Liefmans fruit beers.
This left Lucifer in limbo and potentially at risk of becoming extinct. In that case, Het Anker came to the rescue and revitalized the beer and bought the rights to brew and distribute Lucifer beer. Lucifer is a sipping beer that has a dry hoppy start with a full-bodied taste and after taste (www.hetanker.be, 2011).
