Heavy Weizen Imperial Unfiltered Wheat Ale is the foundation of heavy weizen brewed with qauntities of North American malted barley and wheat. The finest European hops are used, which compliments the ale by giving it nice spicy aromas. The essence of the beer comes during fermentation where the Bavarian weizen yeast consumes sugars and creates flavours reminiscent of bananas and cloves. The aging process allows these characteristics to blend together, becoming one. This wheat ale remains unfiltered, which leaves some of the yeast in the bottle (www.southerntierbrewing.com, 2012).
